Stage two is complete
Ōkara Marina was opened in late 2025 just in time to welcome international cruisers from the Pacific. Berths have filled steadily since then, and M Pier, amenities, an office, and a large car park are now in place.

Ōkara Marina is operated and developed by the Whangārei Harbour Marina Management Trust — a non-profit charitable trust managing more than 330 berths and pile moorings across Whangārei Harbour. This includes the much-loved Town Basin Marina, a long-standing favourite stopover for international yachties visiting Whangārei.
