International arrivals
Welcome to New Zealand and welcome to Whangārei.
Here are a couple of handy tips to make your arrival smooth.

Port of First Arrival
International vessels arriving in Whangārei Harbour must first clear Customs, Immigration, and MPI Biosecurity. Marsden Cove Marina is the harbour’s designated Port of First Arrival. Once clearance is complete, you are welcome to continue on to Ōkara or Town Basin Marina.

Before you arrive
Submit your Advance Notice of Arrival to New Zealand Customs at least 48 hours before arrival. Ensure your vessel complies with New Zealand’s biosecurity and hull-cleanliness requirements. Fly the Q flag once inside New Zealand waters. Keep all rubbish securely stored on board until cleared by Biosecurity officers.

What to expect
Following arrival, Customs and Immigration officers will complete entry formalities, while MPI Biosecurity staff will inspect your vessel and review any declared goods. Once clearance is granted, you are free to cruise New Zealand waters.
