Exciting progress continues on the development of Ōkara Marina, a significant investment in Whangārei’s marine future and one of the largest marina projects currently underway in New Zealand.

As highlighted in a recent RNZ article, the marina development was designed to help meet growing demand for berthage, marine services, and facilities for both local and international boaties. The project will add 115 new berths and strengthen Whangārei’s position as a leading marine destination. Read the full RNZ story here

Located on the Hātea River near the Town Basin, Ōkara Marina will provide modern, sheltered berthage with easy access to Whangārei’s marine services, refit facilities, hospitality offerings, and wider cruising grounds throughout Northland.

The development represents a major step forward for the local marine sector, creating opportunities for businesses, supporting marine tourism, and helping accommodate the increasing number of vessels choosing Whangārei as their base.

We look forward to sharing further updates as the project progresses.
